Thousands of Young Shluchim and Shluchos Join Lag Baomer Parade

Updated: May 24, 2022

Thousands of young Shluchim and Shluchos from around the world joined live on Thursday for an incredible Lag Baomer parade by the Chinuch Yaldei Hashluchim department of the Shluchim Office.

“I loved the Lag Baomer parade,” said Yosef Hecht from Kelowna, BC, Canada. “The drum circle was so funny and entertaining, and my sister and I had so much fun getting creative and making a float based on the 10 Mivtzoyim for the parade!”

Before the parade, the young Shluchim and Shluchos had the opportunity to create their own floats on one of the 10 Mivtozyim to be featured in the parade. All 116 floats entered were shown during the virtual parade, from lego creations to speciality cakes and decorated golf carts and cars.

The program began with an inspirational rally and Farbrengen led by Yisroel Uminer and Moshe Weiss. The 12 Pesukim were said by young Shluchim and Shluchos across the world who tuned in live and recited it with their families.

Before a grand raffle drawing, the children got out their drum of choice for a super exciting drum circle followed by dancing with Eli Weiss. Three raffles were drawn for all those who submitted a float, said a Possuk or joined the rally live. The choice of an electric scooter or hoverboard was won by Mussi Yellin, the slushie machine was won by Shayna Gold and the Hamafitz and Sweet Expressions gift cards were won by Levi Wolvovsky.

Special thank you to CYH director Mushka Goldman and Mendel Goldman for arranging the beautiful program.

The Lag Baomer parade is a project of Chinuch Yaldei Hashluchim (CYH), a division of the Shluchim Office.
