Preschool Staff To Enjoy Retreat

After a nonstop Tishrei, CECE is gearing up for their annual retreat promising relaxation and great learning opportunities.

Chabad Early Childhood Education (CECE), a project of the Shluchim Office, focuses on Chabad Early Childhood programs and equipping directors with the latest educational tools, tips and tricks.  Their annual conference and retreat is approaching, a two-day event for preschool directors to gather, share, grow their skills and collect new ideas to implement in their schools.

This year’s conference, themed, “Power To The Children,” will feature two extended workshops with special guest Teacher Tom. Teacher Tom is renowned for his strong stance on “letting kids be kids," famous for his progressive, play-based program and his blog where he shares about his beliefs, philosophies and antics with the kids he teaches.  He is well known for his easy and enjoyable way of speaking and encouraging learning.

“The CECE conferences are full of comradery, learning, fun and laughter,” says Mrs. Devora Krasnianski, director of CECE. “We always come out rejuvenated with so many new ideas, inspiration and encouragement.”

Other highlights for this year include a workshop with Jill Rashdi titled, “Working from Your Strengths,” which focuses on the whys and hows of individual working styles. There will also be a tour of a progressive and engaging child-centered facility, a Farbrengen with Rabbi Mendel Dubrawsky, and a Chassidus class with Rabbi Mendy Block.

The retreat will take place from November 11-12 in Plano, TX, graciously hosted by local Shlucha Mrs. Rivky Block. The program is set in a beautiful facility, with wholesome farm-to-table meals and a host of amenities to get early-childhood leadership in the right mindset for the new year.

“Our team has been working hard on this conference,” said Esty Levin, director of operations. “It’s going to be powerful!”

Chabad Early Childhood Education was established in 2007 (5767) with the help of Dr. & Mrs. Joseph & Shira Malka Walder. Members of CECE receive weekly resources such as staff development guides, research bundles, unit guides and book reviews. Their exclusive email group encourages high quality sharing and mentoring, where members advise and gain from fellow Chabad preschool directors.
